Depression & Anxiety

"...hypnosis changes expectancies... decreases anxiety and stress... improves the outcome..." ~ clinical psychologist, Guy Montgomery (New Scientist, 13 May 2009)

You can cope with a little daily stress, but sometimes the events in your life cause an overload. This means your subconscious, emotional mind prompts the body to go back to primitive responses - of anxiety, anger or a desire to escape the world. This can be typified by a general low feeling, trouble sleeping, background fear or anxiety, or difficulty coping as well as usual. It can damage self esteem and confidence; and may feel like there is a loss of self control.

Depression & Anxiety

This is when problems can begin - and difficulties creep up on us, sometimes catching us unawares. This can result in anxiety, insomnia, depression, panic attacks, unexplained pain or illness, eating disorders, weight problems and many other psychological or emotional difficulties. Any of these can lead to time away from work or school when life becomes overwhelming.

When the problem is something that part of your mind believes is silly - but you keep on suffering and doing the same old things, governed by repetitive negative thought processes - then hypnotherapy can help.

Depression & AnxietyUsing Solution Focused Brief Hypnotherapy (SFBH), you are encouraged to focus on the present, rather than the past - and to access real skills you already possess (yes, you really do!) - to enable you to feel calmer and in control more often. The key ingredient for your success is that you consciously seek and desire change for the better and that you have had enough of the negative behaviour and thought patterns. Positive outcomes can be achieved for people suffering from insomnia, eating disorders, (including long standing anorexia, bulimia and binge eating), anxiety, depression, weight control, loss of confidence and more.

No therapy is a panacea with 100% success, but, in the right circumstances, hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for initiating positive change.
